On May 31, 2011, Mr. Goldstein will serve as moderator of a program entitled “What Are the Limits: Ethics in Alternative Dispute Resolution for Arbitrators, Mediators, and Counsel.”  The program will be presented in Eilat, Israel as a contribution of the ABA Section of International Law to the annual conference of the Israel Bar Association. The Program Chair is Edna Sussman, and the panelists are Ms. Sussman, Arthur Rovine, David Zaslowsky, Maya Steinitz, Norman Menachem Feder and the retired Chief Justice of the Israel Supreme Court, Meir Shamgar.

Mr. Goldstein has been re-appointed to two leadership positions in the ABA Section of International Law

Mr. Goldstein has been re-appointed to two leadership positions in the ABA Section of International Law and newly appointed to another position. Mr. Goldstein will continue to serve through August 2012 as co-chair of the Section’s Canada Committee and as the Section’s liaison to the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (of which he is a Fellow and also a member of the Executive Committee of its New York Chapter). Mr. Goldstein was newly appointed as vice-chair of the Section’s International Commercial Mediation Committee.

Mr. Goldstein attended the first-ever regional meeting of the Fellows of the College of Commercial Arbitrators (CCA) held in New York at the offices of Dorsey & Whitney.  Mr. Goldstein became a CCA Fellow in 2009.

Mr. Goldstein has been appointed to the International and Commercial Panels of Mediators of the American Arbitration Association.

Mr. Goldstein has been appointed to the Commercial Panel of Mediators of the American Arbitration Association and also to the Mediator Roster of the AAA’s International Centre for Dispute Resolution. Mr. Goldstein began accepting appointments as a mediator in commercial cases in 2009 and this area of his practice continues to expand.  He is also on the mediator rosters of the Commercial Division of New York Supreme Court for New York, Westchester, and Suffolk Counties.  A link to Mr. Goldstein’s AAA Mediator Resume will be posted on this site shortly.

Mr. Goldstein, a member of the American Law Institute (ALI) and its Members Consultative Group for the Restatement (Third) of the Law of International Arbitration, attended that Group’s comment session on the current draft of the Restatement, held at the Pepperdine Law School in Malibu, California.

Mr. Goldstein today successfully completed his seventh mediation in the past twelve months by appointment of the Commercial Division of New York Supreme Court

Mr. Goldstein today successfully completed his seventh mediation in the past twelve months by appointment of the Commercial Division of New York Supreme Court.  Mr. Goldstein has actively sought and been assigned to mediate large complex commercial cases pending in the Commercial Division. This particular case involved a government civil antitrust enforcement action.  Mediation took place in approximately seven live sessions and numerous telephone conversations beginning in July 2010.  Mr. Goldstein expects shortly to join the Mediator Roster of the American Arbitration Association, and seeks to offer his services by appointment for mediation of disputes otherwise to be resolved in international arbitration.
